We present Injerencia: Communism Casts a Long Shadow, a documentary series that investigates how an ideology born in the 20th century continues to project its influence over governments, institutions and societies well into the 21st century. Through a journey across historical events, strategies of ideological expansion and mechanisms of political and cultural influence, the series examines the connections between past and present, focusing on the actors, structures and decisions that have helped keep that influence alive over time.
Across its three episodes, the series delves into the different ways communism has sought to extend its reach beyond its borders, from political action and ideological penetration to intelligence operations and the strategic use of migration flows. It explores the role of Cuba and the Soviet Union in building networks of influence, the work of their secret services and the tools used to intervene on the international stage, as well as the impact of these strategies on relations between states and on the course of political and social events.
